It’s Coming To Edinburgh! We Will Rock You – the smash hit Queen musical - has just entered it’s 10th year at the Dominion Theatre, London* and now it is to enjoy a month run, over Christmas, at the Playhouse Theatre Edinburgh.
Seen by over 11 million people world wide, We Will Rock You, Edinburgh includes classic Queen hits including Killer Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody and, of course, We Will Rock You.
The story is written by Ben Elton and features a lad named Gallileo who falls for a lass called Scaramouche whilst saving the world from Radio GaGa! It all seems pretty straight forward really. And that is exactly how it should be - so that the story doesn’t get in the way of the world class music.

Sister Act Theatre Breaks at the Playhouse Theatre Edinburgh
Just as one smash hit musical based on a film closes in Edinburgh, another opens.
Hot on the heals of Legally Blonde – the musical comes Sister Act – the musical.
Sister Act the film starred Whoopi Goldberg as Delores (a tart with a heart type character) who is a witness to a gangland killing and is forced to hide out in a nunnery to keep her safe before the trial. If you remember she fills in the time taking over the choir and generally causing havoc!
So this is excellent musical fayre and indeed it has been providing audiences with a memorable night out everywhere it has appeared.
Even though the songs are original they have a classic quality to them. This is due to the fact that they are written by Alan Menken – the genius song writter behind many recent Disney films (including Beauty and the Beast and Alladin) and such stage classics as Little Shop of Horrors and A Christmas Carol.
Sister Act, Edinburgh is an action packed, family friendly feel good show. Full of songs inspired by Motown, funk, soul and disco you will be sure to be up on your feet dancing in the aisles.
The show stars Coronation Street’s Denise Black as Mother Superior
Sister Act Theatre Breaks in Edinburgh start at the Playhouse Theatre Edinburgh on Tuesday 01 November 2011 for two weeks.
